Chains are crucial during a ranked war because they allow a faction to rapidly accumulate large amounts of respect by hitting a series of targets consecutively, significantly boosting a faction’s standing and providing a substantial advantage over the opposing side, especially when combined with coordinated attacks against weaker opponents.
Key points about chains in Torn ranked wars:
- Respect gain: Each hit in a chain contributes to the overall respect gained by the faction, and longer chains result in exponentially higher respect rewards. (See Respect Gain Notes below)
- Strategic targeting: By focusing on weaker targets within the enemy faction, a chain can be extended further, maximizing respect gain while minimizing potential losses.
- Coordination and teamwork: Successful chaining requires coordination between multiple players to identify and target suitable opponents in a sequence, maximizing the chain length.
- Morale boost: Achieving long chains can significantly boost the morale of a faction, motivating players to participate actively in the war effort.
Respect Gain Notes:
Not only do you get bonus respect at the milestones (10, 25, 50, 100, 250, etc) but the respect gain per hit increase as the chain progress as shown in the Chain Scale Multiplier graph below.
